CMH Architects is a full service architecture firm in Birmingham, Alabama specializing in retail, commercial, institutional, and educational architectural design and master planning for clients nationwide.

DESIGN OVERVIEW

At CMH Architects, we believe the key to quality design begins with the six principals, who collectively have more than 125 years of design experience, and are personally involved in each project, from inception through post-construction. This expertise is complemented by a staff of experienced associates whose distinctive work is now evident throughout the United States. The firm’s practice includes master planning and design of educational, institutional, corporate, retail and mixed-use developments and other public facilities.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

CMH believes that helping to manage the development process is just as important as the project design itself. We strive to remain current on the ever-evolving architectural landscape as well as specific Owner needs and preferences. We then incorporate that knowledge and insight into designs that are functional, cost-effective and meet the specific client requirements. We believe the keys to successful projects are good communication, quick turn around of information and responsiveness during the entire design and construction process. This emphasis on the client’s needs, desires and concerns is the foundation for strong relationships built on common goals and understanding of the entire planning and design process.

STAFF

CMH Architects has an architectural staff of approximately 30 including planning and graphic design departments. The firm has designed projects from Florida to Vermont and North Carolina to Nevada. Over the course of almost three decades, CMH has been a recognized leader in master planning and design. The staff of the firm can handle all phases of a project from Master Planning and Feasibility Studies, to Design Details and Environmental Graphic Design. Most of our architects are LEED Accredited.

HISTORY

CMH Architects, Inc. was established in Birmingham in 1980 and is approaching its 29th anniversary. The firm has won numerous design awards from the American Institute of Architects and other organizations. CMH is registered to practice architecture in twenty-seven states and currently has projects in design or under construction in 15 states.

Known as design-oriented yet practical, CMH has developed special expertise in meeting strict schedule and budget requirements year after year. Our staff’s experience includes educational, retail, institutional and corporate facilities.
